Other ZoNa fans' reasons for liking this pairing
After searching and asking around, here, I will present some reasons why some people ship Zoro x Nami - either as OTP or as BROTP (friends in another words xD).
Why do you ship Zoro x Nami? If you want, you can of course give reasons why you ship this pairing and if you won't mind, I can include it in my blog ^^

It has been a very long time since I posted anything on this site. But being new to the whole One Piece (having just imported season 3!!! and read the manga up to date)...I am loving this series. The characters development is brilliant and the rapour they have with one another is great and also a bit more mature compared to other animes.
I like the idea of a pairing with Nami and Zorro. Out of all the characters these are the best pair. After all, Luffy cares more about food than anything else and even if Nami was interested in him he would never notice he is that oblivious to at times. Plus the added fact he isn't even interested in some of the attractive women who like him, let alone someone right in front of his eyes.
Sanji is a great character, but a womaniser. He is easily manipulated by Nami and cares only for attractive women. He isn't a challenge.
Zorro however, can be dumb at times and like Luffy would probably be blind to the fact someone liked him. However, he isn't interested in Nami's looks and isn't easily manipulated by her either. He can see right through her act, but at the same time respects her as a comrade or an equal part of the team.
Nami can be dependent on the guys to back her up but also has faith in them and does what she can to help. She is more the leader than Luffy is half the time and kicks them up the arse when they need it. Yet when it comes to stuff that matters her and zorro seem to be of a like mind...until it comes to money...then Nami soon changes her views.
Zorro claims at one point that she will be the death of him. He complains but is quick to save her as well. Their constant arguing is comic and yet not one of hate but affection, teasing and winding one another up. My favourite moment is Chapter 71 in Arlong Park...He see's right threw her yet at the same time she manages to wipe the smug of his face! Yet she shows she cares by asking about his wounds.
Anyway...I would like to know what your favourite scenes are and the arguements as to why they could work compared to other pairings.

Oooh, for the reasons to why I ship Zoro and Nami.. hmm, I think it’s because I love the way the complements each other. I love how they are two different people that obviously have different opinions, but they can come down to an agreement. I love the way they just get each other, Nami knowing which buttons to push to drive him to the edge and do exactly what she wants, Zoro noticing the subtle things about her and even believing in her (Arlong Park events, also he occasionally points out when she’s hungry for treasure, and sometimes told her to ‘stop being like that’ ‘stop worrying too much’). Oh and I love that Zoro can tell her to ‘stop worrying’ and sometimes reprimand her when she’s too over, it’s nice to see that he can somehow handle her, just the same like she can somehow handle him (by punching him XD). And the thing about their relationship is that it’s mutual between them. Ok Nami always punches him and etc but Zoro’s the only person that often reprimands her and scolds her. She’s often shown worried about him, screaming his name in fright, staying by his bed, but he’s also shown worried about her when she got eaten by the snake, in Thriller Bark, and even staying beside her bed too when she’s sick. Like.. I just love their relationship so much?? Like you can just see the development between them, and for me it feels natural if they somehow care about each other more you know. Because in the first place, they already care about each other greatly, and there are things that somehow made me think that wHOA it’d be great if there’s a little something betweem them..
Yup, I guess that’s it. Ahhh I just really love them ;_;

I started shipping them when I didn't even know what shipping was. I just thought, "they would make a nice couple". I suppose because they complement each other. And they have this love-hate kind of relation that's just so perfect. Also because Nami knows Zoro's weaknesses and how to use them at her favour. And the way he protected her at various times. I had never stopped to think the reasons, really, it seems so natural to me. ^^;

I got into One Piece about a year ago. From the beginning, I thought that Zoro and Nami had chemistry; but it wasn’t until the Alabasta arc that I really started to see them as characters that would work well romantically. I am a sucker for relationships that start out somewhat antagonistically and grow and blossom into mutual admiration and respect. And that is exactly what I saw between Zoro and Nami as the series progressed. At first, neither is completely trusting of the other. But with every challenge they face together and as a crew, that trust grows. By the time the story is several arcs in, Zoro trusts Nami to navigate and get them where they need to go and Nami trusts that Zoro will take care of the nastier bad guys that they are up against. And furthermore, after a time, it is evident that they care about each other - a lot (i.e. zoro saving Nami from the skysharks and the serpent in Skypeia and Nami watching over Zoro after Thriller Bark). Therefore, it wasn’t a huge stretch for me to see them as capable of transitioning from friends to something more should the right situation arise. Plus - I think it is adorably perfect that Zoro has no sense of direction and Nami is a navigator. They are a perfect fit! The reasons go on, but that in a nutshell, is why I think Zoro and Nami make such an adorable pair :)
