-Although this moment is from the chapter 218 and I have one another moment from it in Alabasta saga, technically saying the whole chapter is from this Saga more. I wanted to post the moment where Robin joined to be in the previous Saga, because...well, it just fit in more.
-Nami is holding onto a mast and orders to turn around, but Zoro now already some kind of expert when it comes to steering the ship says they can't with these waves.
-Nami is holding onto a mast and orders to turn around, but Zoro now already some kind of expert when it comes to steering the ship says they can't with these waves.
-> ch. 218
-Nami gives a very energetic speech with Luffy and Usopp supporting it! However, Zoro angry responses back because what she said isn't even possible! xD just have to like Zoro's exaggerated reaction to her speech and how he can response such a way to someone like Nami ^^ from Zoro's behaviour, it's quite save to assume the guy wouldn't want to do it, right?
-> ch. 219
-However, Zoro is still forced to come. I kind of doubt it was Luffy's order when even he himself is a bit unsure about the device they are in.
->ch. 219
-And in the end, it's revealed Nami was the one who ordered all three of them to go to the bottom of the sea. It's amazing how she can make the monster trio do what she wants - actually, it's more amazing she managed to make Zoro do it. Sanji would gladly do it for her and Luffy earlier showed he would go and salvage the ship too. However, Zoro isn't the person willing to do everything for women and he didn't show he liked the idea of salvaging the ship either - more like, he even showed more than a mild disbelief and anger when Nami said it.
Her cruelness however knows no bounds and she just simply apologies and easily moves on. I wish I had the same adaptability like her ^^""

->ch. 221
-The crew after their exhausting encounter with Monke-I mean Masira pirates. I find it nice to see Nami and Zoro close to each other ^^
-> ch. 221
-The monster trio brings only useless stuff from the ship and Nami is angered by it, she heartlessly destroys all the "treasures" the guys brought with them and Zoro is later concerned about Luffy who was beaten by angered Nami XD
-> ch. 222
-A small moment where their conversations intertwine a bit. Also, I have seen an art of this moment once and I couldn't just solve the mystery from which chapter it was -.- so here you have it, if you didn't know from which chapter was the art either.
->ch. 222
-As Nami observes Luffy and Zoro's departure, she starts having a bad feeling about it and decides to follow them. I think Zoro is a bit at fault here xD because in Alabasta, Luffy and Usopp were responsible of fetching water from one town and she didn't accompany them. However, now that Zoro is going too, she can't help but have a bad feeling about it.
-> ch. 223
-The original trio in the city ^^ Zoro and Luffy make a promise not to fight in the town. Luffy is as usual unaware of his surrioundings and Zoro with Nami are both shocked by their captain's behaviour - because the two of them are more careful and suspicious about their surroundings than Luffy is.
-> ch. 223
-In this scene, it really shows Luffy is one hell of a restless kid. Zoro and Nami are very aware of how dangerous it is to swallow an apple from a stranger and they are protective of Luffy. Nami and Zoro are Luffy's guardians of some sort here, Nami tries to make Luffy spit the swallowed bit and Zoro is already ready to draw his sword on whoever is trying to hurt his captain.
Not to mention that in a way, Luffy seems like to have some stupid ideas the same way Zoro sometimes has - Zoro is however more mature and doesn't do it that often. On the other hand, Nami is the one who can put both of them in their right place ^^

-> ch. 223
-Luffy with his Luffy-like behaviour. Although he knows these people are mocking them, he still loses composure other two have. And unlike Luffy, Zoro and Nami choose to get out of there and not do something that can worsen their situation.
-> ch. 223
-Nami sits right next to Zoro in a bar and complains. She could have sat next to Luffy knowing how troublesome he is, but she chose to sit next to Zoro instead (and can we also appreciate Zoro's smile please? he is probably laughing from the conversation Nami has with the barman but it's that wide grin we don't see so often 。◕‿◕。).
-> ch. 223
-Zoro and Nami are trying their best to stop Luffy and the blackbearded man to fight - both are seriously like Luffy's guardians here ^^
-> ch. 223
-This looks kind of .... hahah, I don't know, I just love this pic xD Zoro sipping his beer and Nami sitting next to him drinking juice (I guess). The two of them look like some very close friends or maybe even more; they even sit in a similar fashion. And Luffy sits here and he is like their best bud ever ^^
-> ch. 224
-Zoro defends the group (which isn't violating the promise of not fighting anyone) after Bellamy punched Luffy. What is interesting though, is how Zoro only points a sword at the opponent and if he is defending someone here, it would be only Nami who is sitting right behind him ^^
-> ch. 224
-After Nami asks about the Sky Island, she is ridiculed by the bar guests. However, no matter how much ridiculous it sounded, Zoro and Luffy aren't laughing at her - no, even more - they even look pissed that those bar guests just ridiculed her (their eyes are shadowed).
-> ch. 224
-It doesn't take long and a fight truly happened. Luffy however didn't want to fight a meaningless fight and both him and Zoro chose to stay indifferent, taking every blows from Bellamy. Nami is frustrated to see them like this, because she knows they can definitely deal with Bellamy easily.
-> ch. 225
-And even more, Nami seems very confused about Luffy's order to Zoro - and the fact Zoro just goes along with it.
-> ch. 225
-Nami worries about her friends and despite knowing how bad of a situation she is in, she is still brave enough to laugh at Bellamy pirates. If I think about it, thanks to Nami's speech, it was certain Luffy and Zoro could either be more beaten up or saved. Yes, saved. If she didn't say anything, they could have as well brought Nami with them by force and Luffy and Zoro would end up worse than they were.
-> ch. 225
-Nami's line probably made those people back in the bar think the three of them are just bunch of idiots. They let the Straw Hat group go, because they probably couldn't find any purpose the group could be useful for (even Nami..they probably just labeled her as crazy or something like that thanks to her speech to them).
Nami then drags Zoro and Luffy out of the bar.
Nami then drags Zoro and Luffy out of the bar.
-> ch. 225
-The blackbearded man praises Nami for her guts and slowly, Zoro and Luffy are finally able to stand up on their own.
-> ch. 225
-Luffy and Zoro both realized the blackbearded man wasn't here alone. When Luffy says it's not he, Nami is confused by it and Zoro answers her question. That of course left Nami wonder even more about what the boys meant, but she didn't get more explanation than this.
-> ch. 225
-Nami can't forget what happened in the bar so easily like Luffy and Zoro. She is pissed at it and says things that definitely contradict with the promise she made Luffy and Zoro to do. Zoro reminds her of this fact with a sweatdrop on his face - again, he picks up her mistakes and states them without too much thinking.
-> ch. 226
-As Nami is reminded of that fact, she grows even more angry and warns Zoro about what she is going to do to him if he reminds her of it again. Zoro is taken aback by it and he can't say anything back - because he would definitely risk being beaten to death xD so he remains speechless.
-> ch. 226
-Here, I just wanted to show that Nami doesn't beat people with no reasons all the time. First thing, Zoro is sleeping near the group although he is definitely not listening (why do I always get this feeling he wants to sleep near wherever Nami is? or anything concerning her). He is woken up by Luffy and Luffy with Usopp start rejoicing from some information the man provided to them. However, the next panel shows they are beaten byNami for their incompetence of not getting any information about how to get to the Sky Island. Zoro and Chopper weren't beaten by her, because they didn't do anything to anger her.
-> ch. 229
-Later, Luffy goes back into Mocktown to take back golden bells from Bellamy. Nami wonders why Zoro didn't go with him because he was beaten by Bellamy too. Zoro doesn't think they were beaten in a way and his reason confuse Nami. I find it nice Nami is keeping an eye on him and she would probably have no problem if the swordsman went with Luffy, too. Because knowing herself, she would want to beat Bellamy for what he did, right? And I think Zoro was also kind of happy for that gesture Nami showed - she was concerned about him and he tried to explain his reasons why he didn't come. After she accused him of being an idiot, he probably found it to be too troublesome to explain it again and he just tells her to move aside instead.
Their bickering is even more extended in anime with Nami saying "because I'm always right!"
Their bickering is even more extended in anime with Nami saying "because I'm always right!"
-> ch. 233
-Nami is angry that Luffy is late and she starts spouting things that are contradicting in a way. This makes Zoro to wonder about her intentions and he asks her about it. (it's also funny how she turns to Zoro and Chopper while saying she won't forgive the captain if he lost the fight xD)
-> ch. 235
-Although Zoro was quite calm and even asked Nami about her intentions, he still joined the surprised-face-make party as Luffy emerges from the forest, Hercules in his right hand.
-> ch. 235
-Zoro tries to reassure Nami in a way, but he fails xD
-> ch. 235
-Zoro points out something significant after he tells Nami and Usopp that their complaints were fruitless. He is aware of Nami complaining about the situation, but he doesn't stop her in doing so (or is he trying to comfort her) - no matter what they say, he knows they can't do anything to change Luffy's decision. Zoro therefore chooses to tell the complaining group about the upcoming danger instead.
-> ch. 236
-It's nothing .. I'm just wondering how the heck is now Nami behind Zoro when she was earlier standing beside Usopp near the railing...hm...
-> ch. 236
-The captain and the swordsman are rejoicing in their new bounties and Nami scolds them for their cockiness (because of course she doesn't like their attitude here at all xD).
-> ch. 236
-Nami orders the crew to set down the sail and Zoro is seen to listen to her commands. The crew does what Nami tells them to and they successfully make the ship fly. Nami is happy for what she was able to do and Zoro is seen smiling a bit, too - either from the fact Nami was able to give them commands which made it possible for the ship to fly or he was impressed by Nami's skills itself.
-> ch. 236
- Skypiea arc
-The Straw Hats "safely" land on the cloud sea. Usopp lost his conscious due to shock and Luffy tells to do CPR. Zoro's reaction after Sanji said he will do CPR to Nami (who certainly does not need it) clearly says he doesn't like the idea Sanji doing CPR to Nami at all. Zoro automatically calls him an idiot without even realizing it properly (the swordsman probably called Sanji like that because the cook tried to do something concerning Nami, but it's not like Zoro could realize that and admit it himself right? xD).
-> ch. 237
-Let me translate Zoro's actions the way it played inside of my head:
Nami and Chopper: Waaaaah!! A monster! Zoro!
Zoro: Calm down my hearts!
*finishes the monster off*
Zoro: *a satisfied face* Mission defeat-a-monster-that-scared-those-two success.
I'm sorry, pleasse don't mind me. Let's just appreciate...how Zoro tells Nami and Chopper there is nothing to be scared about as he finishes the monster off ^^

-> ch. 237
-Zoro and Nami are speculating with Robin about the species living in the sky and before they could determine whether it's edible or not, Sanji already sauteéd one and Luffy already digged in it. Nami then tries the food for herself and although Zoro doesn't say anything, he seems to observe her trying out the food.
-> ch. 237
-After some troubles, the crew finally finds a beach and Zoro finds the scenery before them amazing. However, he doesn't seem that excited as the rest about going to the beach. The next moment, we have Nami being pecked by the south bird and Zoro notices that.
-> ch. 239
-Zoro then helps Nami to get the south bird off her. Nami then happily starts rushing to the beach, leaving Zoro and Robin behind.
-> ch. 239
-I've always been thinking that what made Zoro want to join the rest and go to the beach was mostly because of Nami's happy face he saw ^^ after all, Zoro seemed a bit .. annoyed about Sanji, who happily joined the stupid trio on the beach.
-When Robin later asks Zoro what about him, the first bubble of Zoro's supposed speech shows some dots and a question mark, in the second bubble he then says while smiling that he will go too. Zoro probably didn't know what Robin meant and maybe just seeing Nami enjoying herself made him smile and want to join, too. Also, it might be just me, but I think he was watching Nami (and the rest) with perspective vision, too ^^

-> ch. 239
-Later, the crew encounters some inhabitants of Skypiea and Nami also tries out a new machine called waver on the sea. She then wanders off to somewhere else and the rest goes to the house of the said inhabitants. They discover many interesting things here and it's there when Luffy decides to look for a certain "god". Zoro didn't show any concern for Nami who was out at all, he probably started thinking she can take better care of herself now and he isn't as worried like the ladies' man Sanji.
Some time later, the crew gets into a confrontation with some officers and that's when we can see Nami rushing to them and warning Luffy not to do anything harsh. However, when she finds out they just had to pay some Belli, she loses her cool and smashes into one officer's face. Zoro and Usopp find it incomprehensible of her when she was definitely the one who hinted they shouldn't use anything violence-related.

-> ch. 242
-After the monster trio finished officers off, Zoro asks Nami about their current cash on the ship. I found it a bit unusual for Zoroto ask that question, but either way, he sure knows who to turn to when it comes to money and savings, right?
-> ch. 242
-Nami complains to Zoro about Upper Yard but he doesn't seem to care about it at all. It's interesting how Nami turned to Zoro with this; maybe she wanted him to stop Luffy or even protect her? The next thing Nami does is trying to force Chopper on her side. Zoro feels Nami is probably scaring Chopper and he tells her not do it. He then reminds her of the obvious fact about Luffy's decision and Nami tells him she isn't coming then. Zoro has no problems regarding that and he tells her to do what she wants.
-> ch. 243
-Nami is shocked by Zoro's non-chalant "do what you want" and when he is asked by her whether he wants her to be killed, Zoro's response doesn't show he really cares about it at all... I don't know whether he was insensitive or he knew Nami was just making a fruitless attempt and she would still come - or maybe Nami tried to make Zoro ask Luffy to leave the place, but either way, she is contradicting herself in a way. She doesn't want to go, but at the same time, she still feels like she had to otherwise she will be killed.
Zoro then delivers another sentence with that I-don't-care-what-happens-to-you attitude and when he wants to say something more, he is cut midsentence with "Gu--". After that is a bubble with no words at all but dots and two exclamation marks. I wonder what Nami did to Zoro to silence him? I can't help but think it was the cause of Zoro's "change" of behaviour later on ...

-> ch. 243
-Zoro, Nami, Chopper and Robin are later taken by force to the destination unknown to them. Zoro tells them to abandon the ship while he stays on it. Nami is taken aback by his statement and asks him what can he do by himself.
-> ch. 243
-When the (ship) group finally lands somewhere, Zoro is seen under the water battling a shark and Nami with Chopper start fussing about him not coming up from the water. Robin's comment didn't help it but rather made them more worried about the swordsman. Zoro then emerges from the water, punching a shark.
-> ch. 245
-Nami comments Zoro's not-so-swordsman-like behaviour while Chopper is amazed by his strength. She later throws him a shirt and he doesn't flinch or complain - it seemed so natural for them, as if they are both used to these kind of things ^^ In SBS, Oda stated Zoro, Luffy and Chopper can't dress up on their own - and with the way how Nami threw him a shirt, I can't help but kind of think Nami is the one doing the dressing up for Zoro.
Nami later wonders what is Zoro about to do and when she is greeted with his "When you are lost, stay where you are", she is immersely shocked by this statement of his for reasons everyone should know about.
Nami later wonders what is Zoro about to do and when she is greeted with his "When you are lost, stay where you are", she is immersely shocked by this statement of his for reasons everyone should know about.
-> ch. 245
-Zoro and Nami having a little conversation about the potential god. Nami tries to knock some common sense into Zoro's head (and maybe persuade him not to leave her and Chopper on the ship), but as he tells her he doesn't believe in god, she is dumbfounded by it and just prays to god she doesn't know the guy (as not to be punished with him if something were to happen).
-> ch. 245
-In the end, when Nami is lured by the scent of gold and money, she decides to join Zoro and Robin. As they try to get to the land, Zoro makes a shout of resolve which left Nami in quite a wonder.
-> ch. 245
-Zoro is concerned about what Nami saw while she was on one tree and he asks her about it. Nami doesn't tell him what she saw and just told him to follow her. Zoro then comments on her "follow me" when she is in the back of the group.
-> ch. 251
-I seriously wanna know what was the original... some translations use this, some use something else... well, either way - Zoro seems a bit confused by how quickly Nami changes her opinions on the god and tells her to straighten her thoughts.
-> ch. 252
-Liking how Nami is worried about Chopper and Zoro is like "nothing-is-wrong-at-all" (let's leave Robin's a bit morbid comment aside). But in the end, he is still the one asking Chopper about what happened. (Yep, it looks a bit like the overly worried mama Nami and the playing it cool papa Zoro who is actually worried too ^^)
-> ch. 252
-Zoro brings some food supplies that are definitely not so usual and Nami complains about them. Sanji being the cook for so long doesn't see anything weird about it, he rather thinks Nami doesn't like garlic xD
-> ch. 253
-Zoro and Sanji joining the small party, Nami being shocked by the fact these two participated in this too XD
-> ch. 253
-Sighs...later, Zoro and Nami are separated..not for long though.
Although Zoro definitely couldn't see Nami properly, just hearing her voice and taking into record the situation, he immediately came to realize it was Nami running from some pursuers and was definitely in danger. He is very surprised and taken aback when he realizes this fact.
Although Zoro definitely couldn't see Nami properly, just hearing her voice and taking into record the situation, he immediately came to realize it was Nami running from some pursuers and was definitely in danger. He is very surprised and taken aback when he realizes this fact.
-> ch. 269
-Zoro saves Nami and Aisa with Wiper's and Ganfall's help. Zoro's face shows he is definitely not pleased with the fact she is here - or rather, he is very restless about it while Nami is on the other hand very relieved to see him. So, what happened to Zoro's attitude earlier before they entered Upper Yard when he was all like "do whatever you want" and "yeah, whatever you say" on her "you want me to get killed by those pursuers"?
-> ch. 269
-Nami is then swallowed by Nola and Zoro is shocked by it. He definitely cares about Nami, no matter what he said back then before they entered Upper Yard.
-> ch. 269
-Enel later shows up and he electrocutes Lucky - someone Wiper is very close to and the warrior couldn't do anything but watch it. Enel then dissappears and what does Zoro do? He immediately focuses his attention NOT to his opponent who earlier beat Chopper up, but he turns to the snake instead! Although the snake swallowed Nami, Aisa, Ganfall and Pierot, Zoro still have the strongest ties to Nami of all the people. And I repeat, it was right after Zoro saw what Enel did. As if Enel's attack on a woman close to Wiper triggered something in him to rush to the snake and try finish some business with it.
->ch. 270
-Instead of worrying about his opponent, Zoro's priority is still to take care of Nola first. He believes the group inside of the snake is still alive since they were just swallowed, but maybe thinking about them getting diggested or thinking they have no sure way to come out of it makes him feel anxious and he wants to take care of the snake first.
-> ch. 271
-Zoro immediately switched his attention to the snake when he saw it being electrocuted although he was just moments ago trying to get out of some rocks that were on him. He is anxious by that and although Nami was swallowed with other people with her (and Zoro should at least know about Ganfall), he only calls Nami's name! He didn't know by that time Nami was already able to get out of the snake and seeing the snake being electrocuted didn't make him feel really good (remember when he saw Enel electrocuting Lucky too).
-> ch. 273
-As Nami hears Zoro calling her name, she comes out and Zoro seems at first very surprised to see her there. The next moment, he is seen to gain some composure and calms down since his speech bubble was not that of angry one (maybe he didn't want to show Nami how worried he was?). He also seems more annoyed to know Luffy is inside it ^^" and both he and Nami are definitely not pleased by it. Hahah, seems a lot like Luffy is their ward of some sort and like I said, they are like Luffy's guradians XD
-> ch. 273
-Chopper was earlier knocked out and Zoro dragged him with himself. However, he didn't give Chopper to Robin, but he gave him to Nami. Nami and Chopper are then seen hidden behind a rock while Zoro is out and he is with Robin, Ganfall and Wiper in a confrontation with Enel. It almost seems like Zoro told Nami to take care of Chopper and hold back, while he finishes the job ^^ the next moment, Nami starts fussing over because she was afraid her friends would betray her and finish her off. However, the rest already decided Enel was going to leave the survival game (=they would defeat him) and Nami was surprised by it.
What's the issue here is still the fact Zoro gave Chopper to Nami and he even stayed a bit longer close to them before facing Enel ^^
What's the issue here is still the fact Zoro gave Chopper to Nami and he even stayed a bit longer close to them before facing Enel ^^
->ch. 273
-Some moments ago, Zoro caught Robin and made an excuse she is a woman (that's why Enel shouldn't have electrocuted her). That scene was kinda very out of character for me, because Zoro was shown to be someone who doesn't care about gender at all. I would be actually even offended, because that could also mean he thinks Robin is weak and thus she shouldn't be attacked xD Because let me repeat it again: he is the guy who gives no two things about gender.
More than anything, this moment was probably like Zoro warming up to Robin. He didn't trust her to begin with, she was still a stranger to him but because Luffy believed in her and trusted her, Zoro doesn't have a choice and treat her like his fellow crewmember, too. He wasn't able to save her from being electrocuted (even though I'm pretty sure he noticed Enel readying himself to attack her) so the least he could do is catch her. He is a gentleman after all, that's why he also probably said what he said. And face it, Nami was there so if he did absolutely nothing, wouldn't it make him a bad crewmember?
With this also somehow comes hand in hand one of my theories why I think he could have said to Robin she is a woman. It's probably not like Zoro wanted to make Nami jealous and definitely not because he considers Robin more woman-like (when he doesn't care about shits like that). The reason why he said that is probably because Robin is the only female member aside from Nami and Nami has shown to be very happy to have another female crewmember on board (after she was first suspicious of her). Nami has shown to care a lot about Vivi in a bit different way than she treats guys and seriously, the girl was really sad when another girl left them, too. Zoro probably realized how female crewmembers made Nami very happy because they can understand her mindset more than most men in the crew and thus, when Robin was attacked, it was Nami's yell that woke him up and he at least caught her. In that moment, it's clearly shown how much Nami cares about Robin and Zoro realized it a bit late. That's why I somehow came to a conclusion he probably said "She's a woman" because he knows how female crewmembers are special to Nami. But hahaha, it's just my bias headcannon, don't take it seriously XD
The next moment Zoro charges at Enel, he is already using another excuse completely different from the previous one.
After witnessing Enel's power, Nami knows full well how extremely dangerous he is and she realizes Zoro can't beat the guy. Instead of telling the swordsman about his enemy's abilities, she is more worried and tells him he can't beat him (and Zoro should back off and not charge at his opponent).

-> ch. 275
-Zoro gets electrified by Enel and Nami is very worried about him.
-> ch. 276
-After Zoro falls, Nami even though knew he couldn't beat Enel, she is still shocked by it . The next moment, she realizes Enel will kill everyone, regardless of the fact they were already incapable.
-> ch. 276
-Nami watches her crewmembers and calls out to Zoro first - maybe because she relies on him more, or she is worried about him more - but either way, watching them gets her nowhere as Enel starts approaching her in other to finish her off.
-> ch. 276
-Nami faces Enel, but she glances at Zoro before moving her gaze on Robin, Chopper and Ganfall. She realizes again that Enel is going to kill them if she doesn't do anything. Nami then tells Enel to take her with him although she definitely didn't want to. She still did it for the sake of her crewmembers. As she leaves with Enel, she brings the waver with her to make some kind of trace leading to him if the unconscious rest or someone else would wonder where they could find her or where Enel is.
-> ch. 276
-Zoro knows full well Nami can't convince Luffy even if she wants to.
-> ch. 295
-Later, Nami let one leave with some instructions fall to them. On it, she hints them to make the beanstalk fall. Zoro and the rest realizes what are instructions for and he actually thinks the idea of using the beanstalk is either a suicide or solution. Although he doesn't fancy that idea, he still knows it's worth trying and moments later, he goes to do the job.
->ch. 295
-> ch. 296
-Good old Skypiea, there are quite a lot of moments, right? In anime, they even let Zoro rescue Nami many many times from sharks <3
What I like here the most must be Zoro-Nami-Chopper conversation ^^ I feel like they care a lot for each other even though they
argue - but maybe it's because they worry about each other that they argue? Who knows xD
I also liked this Saga story wise - when they discover the truth about Upper-Yard, it surprised me a lot. Conis was really great, too - that part where she brought out a bazooka was just too cool ^^ The best joke for me... I was laughing hard when Zoro was worried about Nami, annoyed about Luffy and shocked when an enemy dog listened to him xD another great moment at the end was when the crew discover that Conis' dad was alive (and he says he is sorry for it xD). Oh, and Usopp's invention AAAaaaAAAaaa was hilarious, too! xD Hope he uses it some time again ^^
