Water 7 Saga canon moments
- Long Ring Long Island arc (Foxy arc)
-The crew sets their eyes on the new island and as Luffy and Usopp already went to discover its wonders, Nami seems to be a bit worried since they don't know anything about it. Zoro who is near her points out there shouldn't be any danger although Nami herself didn't say anything about danger. He automatically knew the safety concerned her the most and by observing the land, he came to the conclusion there shouldn't be any danger and informed it of her. In a way, he was right, if some things didn't happen.
-> ch. 304
-The things I'm talking about is the fact Foxy pirates showed up and requested Davy Back Fight from them. Nami doesn't like the sound of it and wonders who would care if they ran from it. Zoro immediately answers her HE cares and right after him, Sanji agrees to it. Nami doesn't understand their response and seems a bit annoyed by it.
-> ch. 306
-Out of all crewmembers, it is Zoro who seems to have noticed Nami's gloominess and he tells her to stop mumbling.
-> ch. 306
-It's a bit of a pity Zoro didn't cheer on Nami, Usopp and Robin when they were racing or did he at least take care of those interfering ruthlessly in the race. He later even indulged in some kind of a drinking contest. However, right after Chopper was taken by the enemies and started remorsing about his situation, Zoro immediately turns to him and tells him to shut up. Although he wasn't watching the race carefully, he knew well enough they did their best and since they accepted the challenge, Chopper shouldn't act like this. Nami is quite angry at his outburst towards Chopper and Zoro frankly has nothing to say back to her. However, Chopper stopped complaining after his words and Nami was surprised how Zoro's words positively affected Chopper. Seeing the reindeer's reaction, Nami isn't angry with Zoro anymore and even recognized his words were probably needed there. Not only Nami, but Zoro as well as the rest (but these two especially in my opinion) felt better after it.
-> ch. 309
-The next challenge included Chopper, but because he was already taken to the enemy's side, he couldn't participate. The only ones who participated in the next race were Zoro and Sanji. As they walk on the field and start bickering, Nami can't help but feel a bit worried while watching them.
-> ch. 309
-Zoro decided on his own Sanji will be their ball man and when Sanji complains about it, Zoro tries to assure him the cook looks good with the thing on his head. The swordsman however fails and they continue deciding who is going to get the ball-position with rock paper scissors. Nami watches them and she comes to a conclusion they can't even decide on it. She then praises Sanji for looking good in the attire in order to make him take the position already (and start the game). Now then, since Sanji became the ball-man, Zoro should be extremely happy, right? He even tried to praise Sanji himself in a good way (and failed). However, right after Nami praises Sanji, Zoro doesn't seem to be that happy and he calls the cook an idiot. Why would his reason be, I wonder~?
-> ch. 309
-> ch. 310
-> ch. 310
-Zoro and Sanji both act solo and Nami tells them to work as a team.
-> ch. 311
-Nami puts forth a sure way plan to win. It was nothing else but taking the enemy's captain into the crew and Foxy pirates start calling Nami names because of it. The crew looks like they are all on Nami's and that applies to Zoro, too. He didn't say it was a bad or a stupid plan, but seeing how they treated her, he maybe felt it would have been better if she didn't say anything. He is sighing that way like "why did you say it when it made you cry" and even tells her to stop crying.
-> ch 313
-Wow what Robin said made me laugh so much xD
-Wow what Robin said made me laugh so much xD
-Later, Zoro and Sanji start praising themselves on their seemingly solo effort and before they can fight because of it, Nami stops them. She seems to be talking more to Zoro than Sanji (eye contact) and she also touches both of their faces. However, her right-handed fingers are almost like IN Zoro's mouth, touching his teeth! (I even zoomed it!)
-> ch. 313
-Right after, Zoro asks no one in particular about what are Foxy pirates doing. Although Nami stands farther than Robin and Chopper, she is the one who answers his question.
-> ch. 313
-Can we please just appreciate the fact Zoro stands close to Nami in admiral's presence?
-> ch. 319
-The swordsman asking the navigator about their departure. Isn't captain the one who decides this? Well, captain wanting is one thing, but whether they can sail is something else (weather, condition, etc.) and the one who knows that the best is the navigator. Zoro knew only Nami could know the conditions the best, that's why he asked her.
-> ch. 321
-The crew sleeping in one room and Zoro chose to sleep quite close to Nami and Chopper ^^
-> ch. 321
- Water 7 Saga
-The crew rests four more days on the previous island before setting off. On their way to island Water 7, the crew does what they usually do. Nami is sunbathing and near her sleeps Zoro. Then Sanji enters the scene and starts dancing after Nami praised his cooking. This wakes Zoro up and he starts fighting with Sanji.
Zoro was sleeping near where Nami sat and I think they were the only ones on the deck (sorry if it isn't deck, I don't really know how Merry and Sunny look like, so I kinda don't know which part is which :P) and Zoro enjoyed it - until Sanji came, that's it.

-> ch. 322
-I also have an urge to say "wherever" in Zoro's bubble here, because that would indicate he prefers sleeping in Nami's presence ^^
-> ch. 322
-Nami asks no one in particular a question and although Zoro seems to be struggling with Going Merry's mast, he still answers her.
-> ch. 323
-Luffy, Nami and Usopp went to exchange money and get Merry repaired, while Chopper, Robin and Sanji later went shopping (without the first trio knowing about it - this is important, alright?). Zoro was then the only one on the ship. When the situation got worse and Usopp was beaten by Franky family, Nami rushes to where they docked the ship (with Zoro on it). It's nice that during her way there, she exclaims she will bring Zoro to take care of that Franky family, although according to her memory, Sanji, Chopper and Robin should be there, too. It's possible Oda forgot it, but even if he didn't and he wrote "Zoro and others" (but the translators forgot about it), it's still nice to know she depends on Zoro a lot.
-> ch. 328
-Zoro doesn't doubt Nami's instructions, but he doubts Sanji's instead (although he sure isn't the one to talk).
-> ch. 329
-Sanji blames Zoro for what happened and they are about to argue, but Nami stops them.
-> ch. 332
-The situation later gets even worse with Robin dissappearing and Iceburg getting shot. The Straw Hats are falsely accused of Iceburg's shooting incident and they don't have a choice but run and hide. During their hiding, there is one scene where Zoro and Nami are sitting on Luffy (quite close at it...) as if they are his bosses of some sort xD
->ch. 340
-In the end, Chopper finds their hideout and all three of them fall into the river. Later when they are together on a roof, Nami blames Zoro for being chased around and Zoro defends himself but he doesn't raise his voice at her, indicating he knew he was partly responsible.
-> ch. 340
-Luffy recklessly rushes into Iceburg's house, which leaves Zoro and Nami totally angry and they have the most shocked faces. Yep, like I said, they are like some kind of his guardians xD but hell, their faces are just too funny...
-> ch. 342
-Nami starts complaining about Luffy and Zoro tells her it's no use doing so. She then realizes this could actually be to their advantage and both Zoro and Chopper agree with her.
-> ch. 343
-With the thoughts of Luffy charging in first, the trio jumps over the wall. However, as it seems like, Luffy got stuck somewhere and Zoro, Nami and Chopper have no choice but face the shipwrights.
-> ch. 343
-Roronoa Zoro and Nami are both recognized and with Chopper, they start running from their pursuers. Even in this chaotic situation, Nami still asks Zoro about Luffy's whereabouts, although it's clear he couldn't know the answer. It seems like Nami depends on him a lot and when it comes to things she doesn't understand or doesn't know, she asks Zoro about it. After a while, Zoro decides to stop running, leaving Nami a bit surprised.
-> ch. 344
-Considering his two crewmates, Zoro knew well enough they couldn't have the same stamina as his and would probably tire out sooner or later. That's possibly one of the reasons why he decided to fight back (the other reason would be he realized running would take them nowhere when they are in a ruch). Because Zoro knew the shipwrights were innocent, he decides to use the back of his swords. However he is still causing serious injuries and this fact didn't go unnoticed by Nami and Chopper.
-> ch. 344
-Zoro took care of all shipwrights and Nami seems to be quite angry about it (because thanks to it, they have wasted quite an amount of time). Chopper on the other hand is amazed by his strength and starts admiring him. Nami a moment later lets it slide and tells them to go. Chopper then tells Zoro which way to go, but he almost got lost anyway. This leaves Nami and Chopper shocked and in Nami's case even wonder whether this is a miracle.
-> ch. 346
-Nami orders both Zoro and Chopper, but because she is looking at Zoro, her order is more like towards him. Despite his complaints, he ends up doing what she told him to (well, what else can he do).
-> ch. 346
-Zoro realizes their enemies are using a cutting technique and he tells Nami and Chopper to get down. Although they don't understand exactly why, they still listen to him and do what he tells them. This moment shows how much they trust Zoro and his abilities when it comes to dangerous situations.
-> ch. 348
-Despite Nami and Chopper knowing they should get away from the wall, Zoro still warns them about it.
-> ch. 349
-After Zoro and Luffy were both thrown out of Iceburg's house, Nami and Chopper with the help of other shipwrights and people start searching for them. When they are together once again (thanks to Nami and Chopper who found them), Nami and Chopper have very relieved faces.
-> ch. 363
-Right after the group escaped from the Aqua Laguna wave, Luffy starts wondering about Zoro's whereabouts and Chopper innocently tells the captain where the swordsman was. Luffy couldn't help but laugh and Nami scolds him because he wasn't any better than Zoro when he was stuck between houses. Nami then has something to tell and she tells Zoro to listen, too.
-> ch. 364
-Unlike Luffy, Zoro wasn't that pissed when Nami came late, but he sure was happy to see that she brought sake with her. I think sake isn't something you drink to gain some energy for fight, so why did Nami bring it?? =.= Zoro also seems genuinely happy to have sake, doesn't he? Just look at that glint near his face ^^
-> ch. 365
- Enies Lobby arc
-Zoro and Nami alone in the carriage, an urgent message from the control room and a little bit of our imagination...yeah, this is really bad for our health xD
Only some moments later was the carriage fulled with people.
Only some moments later was the carriage fulled with people.
-> ch. 366
-Nami decided to change in the carriage with men aboard, but she doesn't seem fazed by it even in the slightest. While most men are making quite a ruckus about it, Zoro was probably the only one decent enough to look away and he looked back only after she finished changing. Luffy on the other hand didn't seem to care in the slightest when he was concentrating on stuffing his lunch into his pockets.
-Zoro also notices Nami has a bit different weapon than before and asks her whether she changed it. Nami reveals to him it's still her clima tact that was just enhanced by Usopp. However, mentioning Usopp's name made Luffy and Nami negative and Zoro tells them to not act so solemn.

-> ch. 368
-Nami tries to calm Luffy who was in rage and she even started to argue with him, but Zoro knowing how Luffy is, he told her to forget about it because they all wanted to rescue Robin anyway. Since he had point, Nami then calms down and stopped her outburst.
-> ch. 376
-The crew then decides on a plan and as the first group of shipwrights and Franky's subordinates decides to go, Zoro easily picks the odd ones that tried to blend in the first group out. Those odd ones are no one else but Nami and Usopp.
-> ch. 376
-Zoro's brilliant plan to get into Enies Lobby. Brilliant indeed. Usopp and Chopper start thinking they will all die, Sanji tries to take advantage of the situation to his favor and Nami realizes Zoro was the one responsible for this chaos. She seems to be the one who popped out of the carriage, asking Zoro about how they are going to land. The swordsman then casually gives her an answer to leave it to luck, making Nami shout that part in disbelief.
-> ch. 380
-Nami uses her enhanced weapon and it unfortunately hits not just their enemies, but also her own comrades alike - which in this case are Zoro and Sanji.
Zoro is quite angry about it, but he doesn't hold it very long, because a moment later, they talk about Luffy and Zoro seems to have forgotten about it.
Zoro is quite angry about it, but he doesn't hold it very long, because a moment later, they talk about Luffy and Zoro seems to have forgotten about it.
-> ch. 381
-The swordsman starts wondering about their captain and Nami tells him she doesn't know where he is, because the island isn't small. However, when an explosion takes place in one of the buildings, the whole crew deduces that is the place Luffy probably is.
-> ch. 381
-Can we just take a minute and appreciate the fact Zoro stands near to Nami ready to take care of the enemy?
-> ch. 386
-> ch. 386
-Nami points out something about the trial but Zoro tells her to ignore it and he asks her about the direction to go. He trusts Nami a lot when it comes to navigation now (even when it's clear you just have to get on the roof no matter how and the most logic way is to use the staircase here).
-> ch. 387
-Zoro, followed by Nami and Chopper moves on, the moment later Sanji shows up and declares he is the one to clear the path Nami takes. Zoro is angry about Sanji's sudden interruption and asks him whether he wants to fight (now of all times).
-> ch. 387
-Chopper notices Zoro strayed off when they weren't looking ^^" Nami asks him in disbelief how could he go the wrong way when she said staircase and she calls him a fantasista. Zoro blames Nami for this since her explanation was according to him bad, but he still returns and follows them. Chopper then asures Zoro of the fact he will make a medicine for hopeless idiots. This kind of angered the swordsman and he tells Chopper to not call him hopeless. Really, if Nami and Chopper weren't there, god knows what would have happened to Zoro xD
-> ch. 387
-When Cerberus starts attacking Zoro, Nami and Chopper, Zoro tells the other two to go on ahead while he finishes the enemy first. When Franky Family later comes to help them, Zoro tells Nami and Chopper to go while he went first.
-> ch. 387
-Moments later, it seems like Zoro still thought Nami and Chopper followed him and because they didn't do so, he starts wondering about their whereabouts. Meanwhile, Nami and Chopper encounter an enemy.
-> ch. 390
-Nami tells Chopper to go, but as soon as she says this, the enemy is knocked out by Zoro's Tatsumaki. At that time, both Nami and Chopper couldn't really process what happened and they were involuntarily trapped within the move, too.
-> ch. 390
-Tatsumaki blew both Nami and Chopper on the roof, Nami landing elegantly, but Chopper landed in quite an awkward fashion.
-> ch. 390
-After Zoro gets on the roof, Nami immediately comes to him and scolds him. She realized Zoro is the only one capable of doing such a move. The swordsman is on the other hand quite confused, because he didn't realize his Tatsumaki not only knocked an enemy Nami and Chopper faced, but it also made them get caught in the move (resulting in them being blown on the roof).
-> ch. 390
-Nami and Zoro are both standing on the same protrusion as the captain tells Robin to leave everything to them.
-> ch. 390
-As the bridge is starting to lower, Zoro makes quite an excited face (strong enemies up ahead, hurry and lower it so I can fight them) and Nami seems a bit disturbed after seeing it.
-> ch. 398
-Luffy starts to ruin the mood, Nami and Zoro at first tell him to not be so cold hearted, but they eventually join him in ruining the mood when they realize Luffy actually has a point when he says Robin is waiting for them. Zoro and Nami are so much like Luffy's guardians here ^^"
-> ch. 399
-Chopper was supposed to help Zoro and Usopp with finding the key to unlock handcuffs the later two were in. However, Chopper later losts control of himself and he goes on rampage. When (mommy) Nami and (papa) Zoro see him, they immediately realize something is wrong with him. Zoro also questions what happened to their hoper (aka Chopper) who was supposed to help them.
-> ch. 411
-> ch. 412
In the end, Nami is the one who goes to free Zoro and Usopp (and she becomes that "hope" Zoro was talking about). On her way, she also talks with Franky a bit and tells him what to do. She ends her speech with "leave it to fate", which takes Franky aback.
If you remember, Zoro said something very similar not long ago - when they were trying to get into Enies Lobby, he said to leave the landing to luck. It's really interesting how both Zoro and Nami sometimes think so similarly. Not to mention Nami was earlier astonished by Zoro's speech, yet, she says something similar here. Maybe along the way to Zoro (& Usopp), she started thinking about the swordsman and remembered his words ^^" and because she didn't know what else to say to Franky, she used those words similar to Zoro's ^^"

-> ch. 413
-> ch. 413
-When Nami finds out Zoro and Usopp have wasted so much time on fooling around, Zoro blames Usopp and vice versa for it. Nami doesn't really want to know who was the one who caused the problem and she just tells them to hurry and get the keys.
-> ch. 413
-When Wolveri- sorry, Jyabura starts attacking Usopp, Zoro who is fighting with Kaku is quite disturbed by it. The moment Jyabura tells Nami it will soon be her turn (after he probably kills Usopp), Zoro shows a deeper concern and he is ready to rush in and stop the enemy. However, that was unnecessary because at that moment, the Hunter Sanji appeared and kicked the wolf.
-> ch. 413
-Nami like the rest is wondering how come Merry was able to get into Enies Lobby but Zoro asks her for the instructions instead. He doesn't have problems with her instructing (ordering) him and he knows getting out of this place is more important than wondering about the ship.
-> ch. 429
-Zoro tells the crew to "talk nonsense later" which naturally enraged Sanji and Chopper likewise, but Nami on the other hand didn't say anything about it and she even helped getting the cook off him by asking Sanji to steer the ship ^^ Nami probably realized the swordsman was right and she chose to help him a bit.
-> ch. 429
-Let's just enjoy the fact Zoro and Nami stand close to each other celebrating their victory ^^
-> ch. 429
-Going Merry's funeral. Nami and Zoro stand close to each other.
-> ch. 430
- Post-Enies Lobby arc
-The crew's next destination as an island should be the Fishman Island. Nami knowing that has mixed feelings about it and Luffy with Zoro have both noticed and commented it. Zoro points out those fishmen in her village were pirates and that's possibly why the village ended the way it ended.
-> ch. 435
-Nami looks forward to the treasure on ghost ships, and strangely, Zoro is also looking forward to it, because those treasures may have swords in it. Nami and Zoro were probably the only ones who were interested in treasures this time the most ^^
-> ch. 435
-Luffy, Nami and Chopper are ready to get Usopp and bring him back, but Zoro stops them. He tells them it's Usopp's fault for leaving the crew. Nami is quite surprised about his sudden behaviour. She asks him about it, but he just dismisses her and he then continues in his explanation. She then tells him she knows it's Usopp's fault but they can eventually talk about it later. However, when Zoro asks her whether is leaving the crew a simple thing, she eventually almost lost her words and before Nami can say anything more, she is unexpectedly stopped by Sanji.
-> ch. 438
-After the crew got their bounties and the news spread in the world, Gen-san is more worried about the fact marines used such a picture of Nami (god, that surprised me xD) than the fact she got the bounty. Because Gen-san enlarged the picture so much (meaning he actually likes it) and Nami even seems to be enjoying herself, Nojiko points out it's OK this way. It would mean the Straw Hats are keeping the promise with Gen-san, although he told only Luffy about it. This means the promise apply not just to Luffy alone, but the whole crew, too.
-> ch. 440
-Again, I like those Zoro-Nami-Chopper moments ^^ what I also enjoyed was Zoro's hopelesness when he is without Nami and Chopper...
he nearly got lost so many times xD
-I have also realized this is the last Saga where Nami and Zoro were together the most... I won't spoil what will happen in the next Sagas, but I have a feeling Oda decided to lower their moments a bit (LOT) TT.TT
