Other unrelated hints
There are many interesting facts that... are not very important, but indeed interesting. I don't think some of them Oda even noticed himself, but who knows. He can still remember Rika after about 600 chapters later (a girl in the town Zoro was supposed to be executed) after all.
Other facts:
-Have you noticed that both Luffy and Zoro were involved in the fight against the Fishmen captains the most (among all the SH-excluding Nami's attempts to kill Arlong)? I know a lot of people love LuNa because of the Arlong Park, but looking at it this way, Zoro should have at least a bit of the credit too. Actually, Zoro fought against the fishmen the most - his enemy in the Foxy arc was a half fishman. I know Nami doesn't hold grudge against fishmen as the race but she hates Arlong and Arlong only. However, she still felt uneasy when she saw the half fishman in Foxy arc and when their new destination was announced to be Fishman Island, she herself stated she has quite mixed feelings about that too.
-Another interesting fact: In the beginning of the series, Zoro's reason for his later supposed execution was because he defended a young girl. In Punk Hazard, Nami is the one who decides to help the children and wants them to be saved (along with Chopper) the most. Zoro also didn't call the kids or the fact they have to save them "pain in the ass", while Sanji kinda complained about it.
-Then, there is also Tashigi. Zoro kind of sees Kuina in her because of her appearance and attitude. And Kuina is the reason Zoro is chasing his dream so much. Nami's mother figure Bellemere was a marine and in Punk Hazard, Nami tells Usopp that she is dreadful while dealing with these strong female marines and they make her feel safe. The main reason was because the female marines remind her of her mother figure - and in this case, it's Tashigi who reminds Nami of Bellemere. In conclusion, both Zoro and Nami see in Tashigi people they hold dear.
-It is also interesting that the enemies Nami stumbled upon and reappeared again somehow have something to do with Zoro.
First, Nami was once a member of Arlong pirates and Hatchan was also one of its members. During Arlong Park arc, Hatchan first helped and then fought against Zoro. A hundred chapters later they encounter him again, but they are not sure if it's him. Zoro then says he sure looks familiar and he even asks Nami what does she think. When Keimi asks him if they are friends with Hatchan, he angrily responds they aren't. I know Zoro's reaction was just more like for comedy, but it was still hilarious he got angry after being asked such a question ^^"
In Thriller Bark, Nami encountered Kuma and Perona. She first confronted Perona about her impudence of trying to steal their ship and "her" treasure, but they are interupted by Kuma's appearance. Nami was terrified when she discovered Kuma is the Shichibukai who also made Perona dissappear. After the battle with Moriah, the crew fights Kuma and it is Zoro who receives the most wounds from it. Later, the crew just party it out without worrying very much, but Nami stays by Zoro's side. In Shabaody, the crew fights a Pacifista that looks like Kuma, but both Zoro and Nami realize he isn't the Shichibukai they fought. The real Kuma then appears and he makes the Pacifista disappear, much to Nami's horror (because she witnessed what happened to Perona). Kuma then sends Zoro somewhere and even when Luffy told everyone to run, Nami stumbles and worries about Zoro. After the split-up, Zoro ends up on the Kuraigana Island, where Perona already was.
After reading One Piece manga (I watched anime first, you see), I realized few things:
1) There are quite more moments between Zoro and Nami in anime than in the manga. Maybe anime creators themselves like them? Who knows. Either way, they made the piggyback ride in the anime longer and more visible than in the manga.
2) Oda doesn't draw their moments really fully in detail and still, he lets both of them to sometimes save the other in a way that can be overlooked.
In the Jungle Fever song, Zoro and Nami have a small conversation:
Nami: "A smile is returned with another smile."
Zoro: "A debt is returned absolutely."
Nami: "Of course! Money too!"
Zoro: "You're still saying that?!"
Comparing to the Franky x Robin pair.
-Franky x Robin pair and also Zoro x Nami pair are those I like the most and somehow I see similarities when it comes to them. Franky and Nami are more like cheerful types, while Robin and Zoro calm types. In either the pairing, one is cheerful and the other calm ^^.
-There is one very cute moment both these pairings share in the similar way. Remember the moment Nami stepped on Zoro to get out of the slick oil on the floor? In Thriller Bark, Robin did a very similar thing - she steps on Franky's head in order to get up. Very similar situations, or not? Esp. when Robin and Nami both didn't do this to anyone else =.=
-This isn't canon, but in the New World narration (in anime), Franky is shown with Robin helping him and with Brook playing a violin in the background. Then, another shot captures sleeping Zoro just waking up with Nami standing nearby and then Usopp pops out from the background ^^
Dragonball
-Oda was inspired by Toriyama-sensei a lot and I think there are some similarities between those two series - One Piece and Dragonball. I haven't seem Dragonball yet, so I don't really know how much.
-What I know is the fact Dragonball characters Bulma and Vegeta are very similar to Nami and Zoro - and guess what, Bulma and Vegeta are later married! Nearly no one expected that and I think Oda could do something unexpected like that too ^^ but as much as I want it to happen, he can always pull some stuns on this - it's still Oda after all xD
Shippers?
-Well, what can I say? There are shippers of this pairing from all kind of countries. However, I feel like a lot of them prefer staying cool and not engage in this much (like..idk, writing fanfics and fanarts, or commenting etc.). It's my feeling, most of ZoNa shippers I meet are not too hot blooded, they aren't arguing with other shippers much and they mostly don't want to raise conflict xD haha..I think most of us just enjoy the pairing (that's why I created this blog in the first place...for you guys to enjoy it). Aside from ZoNa fans... I think fans of other pairings are more or less tolerant towards it. More or less. The only fans of other pairings I sometimes have "conflict?" with are ZoRobin fans, because some of them compare to Zoro and his relationship with Nami a lot and...I don't like that. I don't know, are they maybe aware of ZoNa? Or they just don't really like Nami? Haha.. whatever. I'm not saying all ZoRobin fans are terrible, I have met at least two nice (not directly, just saw their nice actions) out there. However, when there are a lot of fans in the fandom who go to other pairing's site and stir conflicts there, what can people think about it? Even nice fans are then overshadowed and ignored. It's a pity, because thanks to fans who acted not very nicely, I also came to kind of not like ZoRobin -.-
